Once you understand whats happening you don't need inductions. If I were teaching hypnosis/therapy I would get the class to practice as many inductions as possible then I would tell them to forget all of them because ou don't need them. Its pretty straightforward I thought most hypnotherapy schools taught the induction. You "rest the eyes first, then the mind after". Forgetting the numbers is a main part of the induction as you drop the arm. ie: Richard Nongard refers to The Dave Elman Induction whilst doing a countdown from 100 and getting them to forget the numbers.īobser buy a book, do a course, or watch a dvd.
My point being that yes,I did actually know that the eyes closed was the MAIN assumption of The Elman induction but many many therapists, whilst using 'the name' do something completely different. I was hoping some less experienced might have replied by now.
